A Brainstorm was made to demonstrate the ideas that our group put together for our 2 minute opening sequence. This will help us when we do further planning as we can look back on it to make sure we haven't missed any key ideas.

BRAINSTORM

Our group have decided that most of these ideas in our brainstorm will be used for the opening of our Thriller film. Our final idea which we are going to use is about a girl who is getting ready with her friends in a bedroom to go to a birthday party, and all of a sudden her head starts to hurt and she begins getting short/quick visions about what is going to happen later on. We chose this idea, because we will be able to use many aspects of the Thriller genre to create suspense and bring the audience 'to the edge of their seat'. Suspense will mainly be created at the scenes of the visions, this is because they will be quick and will leave the audience with questions making them want to watch more. Also using the idea of the visions will enable us to use codes and conventions of the thriller genre such as low-key lightening to connote danger, shadows to portray mystery and represent the inner darkness and hidden identity, cliff-hangers to leave the audience eager to find out more and POV shots to be able to bring the audience into the situation and make it seem more realistic. We chose to use the idea of a group of girls getting ready for a party in a bedroom, because it will make our Thriller seem more realistic to the audience. We have also chosen to use the idea of the girl going into the bathroom when she gets freaked out. This is because she will be alone so the concentration will be on her with no distractions in the background of the other girls getting ready. We will also be using a mirror in the bathroom because this will connote the characters inner self which she want to hide form anyone else, also will can use close up and extreme close up shots of the character to portray her deeper emotions toward the situation.
