Setting up a scene, or mise en scene, often involves selecting the right props for that scene, and there's more to prop placement than simply adding something to fill in the background. A prop tells the story just as much as the characters and locations do. When setting up a scene, photographers and videographers need to look for items that fill in the character's back story, assist with moving the story forward and help establish location and time.
This page is usefull as it helps when we are fiming so that we know what to have in the bshot; the setting, props, costume, hair, make up, facial expressions, body language, positioning, lighting and colour.

These are just a few props that will be incorperated in out short film that we will need to have with us whilst filming to make sure everything goes through swiftly. These props are all important to enhance our film and make it look just a little bit more professional to show that we have gone through with deciding to adding certain adding things to our film to make us stand out and to show we want to do this to the best of our abilitys as well as making it look realistic and to show diferent things are added in real life events like the yellow police tape when something happens.
Sian Elias
As props we will be using a yellow police tape, red party cups, a birthday badge, Hairspary cans and make-up.
The Make up, is going to quite full on as they are going to getting ready for the party, there hair will be neat and tidy and they will be wearing dreses with high heels.
The lighting will be bight enough to see the girls faces, but also quite dark when the protagonist goes to the bathroom.
In the bedroom the 5 girls will be positioned in a way that you can see each girl eqaully for example them sitting on a bed.
The actors facial expressions will be happy, exited and ready to party. The body language will be lively, dancing and have lots of energy. However the protaganist will be the complete opposite and will slowly change to happy to distressed.
The setting other then the bedroom and bathroom will be quite darka and gloomy for the visions.
The setting in Wrong Turn is critical to the film
because it creates an isolated feeling that gives credibility to the film. One aspect of the setting that helps make the film more believable is placing the story in the deep woods. The heavily forested area creates separateness because the forest is large and it is rural.
Red Pill or Blue Pill from The Matrix, Though the movie it's complex, rich, and heavy at times, the moment Neo is forced to make a choice comes down to a very simple, clear, and visually-stunning image; choose a red pill or a blue pill.
Pans Labarinth, introduces the new color palate of warm, golden reds and scarlet tones, being integrated into the colder, real world palette. The color palette is meant to reflect the fact that the two worlds are completely opposite; fantasy scenes are warm, rounded, uterine and reality is rust, grey, blues, cold greens and straight lines.
The costume's in the maze runner really conveys how desperate they are, to be free, for food and not to die. Te costumes demonstrate this by being dirty, ripped and sweated on. The makeup an hair in this film is very rough, scruffy and muddy.
In Taken the positioning of where the actors stand or sit has been thought out perfectly. For example when the daughter is finally kidnapped and taken away they positioned the actors in a way to decieve the audience as you thought the villians where all ready gone but the next thing you see is the daughter getting taken away. This element of surprise and positining really strengthens the thriller genre.
In the equalizer the protaganists body language is harsh and always standing straight, but at the same time ready to fight. The protagonists face expression is always strong and serious. The facial expressions and body language are imporatnt for the film as it makes you feel this vigilante is real and has to do these bad things for good. It makes the film more credible the audience beleave the character more.
